Miley Cyrus loves flouting the rules, making headlines for some daring red carpet appearances at such a young age. She impressed everybody with her choice of jewelry at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards held at Kodak Theatre on March 7, 2010 in Hollywood, California. Miley Cyrus’s 10-carat ruby ring is by Lorraine Schwartz. Not just her dressing, she loves winning at auctions as well, as we saw her beating her fiancé with a massive final bid of $22,000 in a head-to-head in the bidding war.
This newly engaged couple had stepped out together for the first time in Hollywood since the news of their engagement came out. They were here for the ceremony in California where “The Hunger Games” star Liam Hemsworth received the Breakthrough Award at the Film Awards. This event was followed by a charity auction over a collection of limited edition fine art photographs of Heath Ledger.
These pictures had Ledger along with the Australian actress Rose Byrne in the series. These special set of photographs are signed and numbered by the photographer Rupert Thorpe. They were taken in 1999. At that time Ledger had completed work in “Two Hands” and was on a trip to Las Vegas. It was interesting to see how this couple had a furious flurry of bids back and forth. Eventually Cyrus emerged as the winner though.
This series of seven fine art prints are going to be donated in Cyrus’s name to an upcoming Heath Ledger exhibition at the Western Australia Museum. It has been four years since Ledger died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. As for his family, he has a 6-year-old daughter Matilda from the actress Michelle Williams.
